Covid-19 made it hard for BlackSounds band to record album

BlackSounds Band celebrate 4 years anniversary, Band leader Kagiso Moreki helped bring the band to life in September of 2016, putting the band together helped some members to fight depression about unemployment. drawing from the members shared love for all things upbeat, authentic, and eccentric to the ear.

They’ve shared stages with the likes of Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse, Don Laka, Sun El Musician, Simmy, and K.O just to name a few. Their album ‘Imibuzo’ is their most focused and furious material yet according to band. The album which was released in July of 2020 has been nothing short of amazing with different sounds that cater for almost anyone.

“Our style of music is not limiting, and it caters for everyone. We are a flexible group, and we can cater for any type of outdoor or indoor events” says the group. The band of 5 go on to describe their production as ‘upbeat tempo with a live feel’ leaving very little room for the type of sounds they do not cater for which works to the bands advantage, making it difficult to not enjoy the sounds offered by the group.

All proudly from Munsieville, Krugersdorp have their hearts set on being recognized by the rest of the country and the world at large. So far they’ve performed at prestigious events such as Made in Mogale Music Festival, Joburg Regional Market, J-Something’s restaurant and many events alike and they have no plans on slowing down.

They currently have two singles from their album “Imibuzo” attracting the right kind of attention, “Umsebenzi” which speaks to the young individual part of our economic state seeking a better life, highlighting the importance of needing to do better to achieve greater and “You Need Me” which addresses those inlove, catering for individuals who have appreciation for their significant other and this being beautifully expressed in the universal language of music.

Since their entrance into the music scene, the group have set the bar high and are only aiming for higher. Their versatility along with their creativity in their sound will definitely help keep the band noticed and far from easily forgotten.
