Who is Josh Eady?

Talk us through your top career performances and roles that have shaped your career and why they were significant to you as an actor?
I have had the privilege of working with incredible people who have helped me with each opportunity that has come my way. My journey very much shaped who I am as an artist and gave me a goal to try to reach in terms of the person I want to be. The Kissing Booth was the greatest opportunity for me as an actor, it was unexpected, on a large scale, and forced me to learn the business side of this industry. Lioness was a chance to fully immerse myself into a character and test myself like I never had before.
From acting to podcasting to modelling, you’ve worn many hats. If you had to pick just one role to pursue for the rest of your life, which would it be and why?
Acting will always have my heart. Being on set surrounded by creatives and artists is my happy place and has been from a very young age.
You’ve travelled extensively throughout South Africa. Could you share an off-the-beaten-path destination that stole your heart?
I spent some time in the Transkaai by mistake, travelling from Durban to Coffee Bay. We took a wrong turn and ended up 4×4’ing through the hills, meeting people living in the villages along the coast. From travelling alongside herds of cattle to meeting the children and eating with the locals, it was a very special accident that I still hold dear.
From Gala Premieres to podcast recordings, you’ve been a part of numerous events. Who in your opinion has been one of the most stand-out people you’ve met to date and why?
We spent a weekend with Joey King when on set for The Kissing Booth, during her Emmy nomination. To witness the hard work that went into achieving that nomination was incredible. Joey is one of the hardest-working people I’ve met, and getting to celebrate such a great achievement in life with her was both very special and very well deserved.
Vlogging gives viewers a glimpse into your world. What’s one thing about your everyday life that might surprise your fans?
I think people might be surprised at the enjoyment I find in the simple things. From relationships to meeting new people, training sessions, and the places we travel, everything is very new to me. It almost feels as tho I’m witnessing everything happening alongside the viewer.
You’ve mentioned a personal film project in the works. Could you drop any tantalizing hints about what we can expect from it?
It is a story based on moments in my life merged with ideas from one of my favourite artists
As someone who appreciates storytelling, do you have a favourite book or novel that has left a lasting impact on you?
The latest book I’ve read that left an impact was “A Bright Ray of Darkness” by Ethan Hawke. Beautifully written. Very touching.
What’s your go-to method for shaking off nerves before stepping onto a film set or in front of a microphone?
Music. I’ve always struggled to meditate or create moments of silence for myself. So I try to identify how I’m feeling and find music to match. It keeps me very in the moment, as well as being as open and honest as I can be. If I’m nervous, I’m nervous. No need to hide it.
You’ve had the opportunity to work with some incredible talents. Is there a specific actor or actress you’re itching to collaborate with in the future?
There are so many haha! I have a list written in my journal of people I would love to work with. Selfishly, I would spend every second learning and watching as much as trying to keep up!
The entertainment industry can be unpredictable. Can you recall a particularly memorable “aha” moment that altered the course of your career?
The biggest “aha” moment for me right now is learning how to identify with who I am, and how important that is. We are all constantly changing and I’m really excited about where I am right now in life.
Looking ahead, what’s one message or piece of advice you’d like to share with your fans as they continue to support you on your journey?
Life has ups and downs. And in the downs, there might be times of silence. Where maybe it feels like nothing is happening, nothing is moving forward. Learn to listen in those moments. Sit back and enjoy the silence.

To have an authentic conversation that takes us behind the scenes into special moments in people’s lives. A person with a “win” is always admirable, but the story of achieving the win is where we connect the most and feel the most connection. It’s in the ups and downs that life happens.
