Multi-talented performing artist KADAF (real name Mbongeni Magubane) is using his new AMA-BBW to drive anti gender based violence messages throughout South Africa.
The heat single is produced by DJ Sbu (Wako Tsakani). According to some music pundits, AMA-BBW has all the needed ingredients of a banger of the year that might even go on and scope some awards in South Africa and abroad.
Whatever happened in the making of this hit-song (which will are unlikely to know) but what is clear is that the Soweto born artist (KADAF) and his manager, Bruno and his record company Bold Heart Records were in a good space. The song has not just seen Mzansi and the beautiful African Continent dancing but it is driving a very important message of fighting gender based violence and appreciating the common unique natural beauty of African ladies.
In an exclusive interview with Showbiz Scope, KADAF explained revealed interesting details on what inspired the making of AMA-BBW.
“The writing and producing was inspired by many social ills, the appreciation for beautiful bold women from this country and continent. In brief, I guess you can say the song (AMA-BBW) is my way little way of embracing our Bold Beautiful Women.
I personally feel like in many ways women (irrespective of their sizes and shapes) are inspiring role models and often they don’t get the credit deserve. Through this song I hope women of this get a sense that we indeed I appreciate them.’’ said KADAF
KADAF is one of few conscious artists that has decided not just been observing the unfortunate gender based violence but use his powerful craft to convey a rebuking message to the perpetrators and affirming the victims (women) that they are not to be blamed for what is happening to them.
The song is converting the message of loving women and giving women faith that it is not all South African men that are trash.
‘’The unfortunate escalation of gender based violence during the lockdown probably had a lot to do the end product of what I produced in studio. I think credit should also be given to Bruno and the entire Bold Heart Records for believing me that I can balance the need of making a hit song and also being advocate for change. Thus, I am not going to lie and say the making of AMA-BBW was smooth sailing. To the BBW woman, the song is for you Queen. Love and appreciate yourself. You are as important as every other woman. Embrace your traits and let them shine.’’ KADAF concluded
Ama-bbw is out and available on all digital platforms around the world.
