Living To Inspire: SA Online Women Empowerment Portal chooses to challenge this International Women’s Day

In South Africa, we all know National Women’s Day to be on 9th August every year – the day that commemorates the 1956 march of approximately 20,000 women to the Union Building in Pretoria to petition against the country’s pass laws.

But across the globe, March 8th is celebrated as International Women’s Day and from 1975 was supported by the United Nations.

This global day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women as well as a call-to-action reminder to accelerate gender parity, celebrate women’s achievements, and fundraise for female-focused charities.

Liv2Inspire, South Africa’s online women empowerment portal, is throwing its support behind this year’s International Women’s Day by buying Manthso’s new range of fearless statement T’s and is urging all South African women to join the movement.

The brainchild of local marketing guru, Olivia Hutton, Liv2Inspire offers insights, inspiration, motivation and free resources to empower its members to grow both personally and professionally with a strong sense of community engagement and action – something she is extremely passionate about.

“Liv2Inspire was created to assist women across our community with their own development in all aspects of their lives – be it financial or personal,” says Hutton.

“And regardless of whether it is South Africa’s Women’s Day or International Women’s Day, every day is an opportunity to empower all women to come together and support each other. This is what the fearless campaign means for us.”

“The theme for International Women’s Day is #Choosetochallenge,” concludes Hutton. “We would like to challenge all South African women to call out gender bias and inequality, seek out and celebrate women’s achievements and ultimately choose to be fearless!”
