Radio host and actress, Relebogile Mabotja, has announced her new YouTube talk show. A press statement was released to announce her show, which will be unpacking real-life and human interest stories.
“The hard-hitting series will also tackle conversations about what it means to be a transgender person in South Africa, being raised in exile, coming out while married, the ins and out of the male adult entertainment industry, the not so funny side of being a female comedian and much more,” it read. The first guest of the show will be actress and presenter, Mari Molefe van Heerden.
“Mari is a young black woman who identifies as a white person. Raised by Afrikaner parents, Mari’s views on culture and tradition have been shaped by her upbringing. Join Relebogile Mabotja as she explores transracial adoption and identity,” continued the statement.
“I’ve missed the long-form of talk I got to do on radio and grew up watching on television. I’m excited to unpack real stories and experiences of ordinary South Africans through conversations and topics that don’t get fully addressed and sometimes get brushed under the carpet and to do so in this unrestricted video format.”
“Unpacked with Relebogile Mabotja. is raw, unfiltered, and long overdue in the South African media landscape. I can’t wait for everyone to finally join me on my new endeavour,” she said.
