Skeem Saam’s Shoki Mmola who plays the role of Celia Kunutu and Putla Sehlapelo who plays the role of Alfred Magongwa were on-screen lover’s on another show before Skeem Saam.
Mmola and Sehlapelo have kept viewers glued to their screens with their evil ways on Skeem Saam for more than seven years, just like they kept their fans glued several years ago on a popular Sepedi TV drama called Death of a Queen.
Mmola was the evil Grace Lerothodi, the wife of king Maloro, played by Sehlapelo. Their friendship and on-screen chemistry brewed on Skeem Saam because of that show.
The on-screen lovers met years ago in Pretoria while Shoki was studying drama at Tshwane University of Technology and Sehlapelo was also studying drama at the University of Pretoria.
Sehlapelo is a father of three in real life and has been married to Neo Sehlapelo for over five years. Sehlapelo is jokingly as stingy in real life as his on-screen role of Alfred Magongwa: “I love that I don’t have to bring a skaftin to work because I am well fed at work,” he said.
