UZALO tells the story of two family dynasties and the two young men who carry their hopes and legacies, as they learn the complexities of money, family and love.

The families reside at opposite ends of the most affluent street in Kwa-Mashu. On one end, you’ll find the humble Mdletshe Family, whose patriarch presides over the charismatic Kingdom of Canaan Church and its promising Gospel choir.

On the other end of the street are the Xulus, who runs a burgeoning, international criminal enterprise, exporting stolen luxury vehicles. Joined by an untold secret both families battle for the soul of Kwa-Mashu.

This gripping telenovela is compelling and its true-life characters explore Kwa-Zulu Natal and South Africa in a way that hasn’t been seen on TV before.
